9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Sound Solutions: Integrating Music Therapy into Methadone Clinics for Opioid Use Disorder

Overview of the opioid epidemic, focusing on Indiana’s high prevalence rate.
Collaboration between the Indiana State Opioid Response team and Indiana University Indianapolis researchers.
Mindfulness-based music therapy intervention for individuals in methadone treatment.
Development of the protocol, initial outcomes, participant feedback, and plans for statewide expansion.
Case studies and engagement with intervention materials.
Strategies for integrating music therapy into recovery programs.
Learning Objectives:
Identify at least two strategies for integrating music therapy into recovery programs (IV.A.7).
Discuss potential for statewide expansion of music therapy programs in recovery treatment settings (V.A.4).
