Indiana’s state task force continues to work towards state recognition for the Music Therapy profession. This presentation will help attendees learn about advocacy at all levels, including how to be a part of the Task Force’s advocacy efforts. Attendees will determine their comfort level and a starting point for advocating for themselves and the field.
This presentation will also focus on every-day advocacy. Participants will learn about responding appropriately to other professional’s inquiries and providing in-services to their current employers or workshops in the community.
- Participants will be able to define advocacy.
- Participants will be able to list the six steps of effective advocacy.
- Participants will determine their part in the overall advocacy efforts for Indiana.
Music Therapy: Advocacy in Action is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 5 Continuing Music Therapy Education credits. Dynamic Rhythms, #P-164, maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.
