Eligibility: Students must be currently enrolled in an Indiana academic program and actively pursuing internship sites. Respond in writing to the questions listed below, and provide one letter of recommendation from music therapy faculty. Submit all application materials to Jan Schreibman through email at jschreibman@iuhealth.org . Co-chairs of the clinical training committee will review applications and make a recommendation to the AIMT executive committee for final approval. Once the awarded student has officially accepted an internship, he/she will be awarded the money. All applications for consideration need to be received by March 30, 2012. Recipient will be announced at the GLR at the Indiana state meeting.

Brief Description of position and duties:

Our primary focus at Pinnacle Behavior Services is assisting individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the Medicaid Waiver setting.  We are authorized to support individuals receiving services under: The Developmental Disabilities Waiver, the Support Services Waiver, Aged and Disabled and the Autism Waiver.

Our Music Therapists function as a member of the individual treatment team (IDT) for the client with an expertise in how music therapy can benefit the individual consumer.  Music Therapists are responsible for responding to referrals, conducting initial consultations, assessments, treatment planning and follow up for clients. Music Therapists are required to submit weekly billing notes and complete quarterly and annual reports.
